Terms & Conditions of Carriage

1. Agreement
These conditions govern every shipment tendered to DES INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS (“the Company”). By handing over a consignment, the shipper accepts these conditions on their own behalf and on behalf of the consignee and any other party with an interest in the shipment.
2. Chargeable weight
Charges are calculated on the greater of actual gross weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight is length × width × height in centimetres divided by 5000. The Company reserves the right to re-weigh and re-measure any shipment and to adjust charges accordingly.
3. Delivery attempts
The Company will make up to three delivery attempts on consecutive working days. Where delivery cannot be completed because the consignee is unavailable, refuses acceptance or the address is incorrect, the shipment will be returned to the shipper and return charges will apply.
4. Liability
Unless a higher declared value has been accepted in writing and the corresponding premium paid, the Company's liability for loss or damage is limited to the lower of the declared value and the amount recoverable under applicable law. The Company is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, revenue or market.
5. Claims
Claims for loss, damage or delay must be notified in writing within seven (7) days of delivery, or of the scheduled delivery date where the shipment was not delivered. Claims must be supported by the waybill, a commercial invoice and photographic evidence where damage is alleged.
6. Customs and duties
For international shipments the shipper warrants that all declarations are complete and accurate. Duties, taxes and clearance charges levied by any authority are payable by the party designated on the waybill and, failing payment, by the shipper.
7. Cash on delivery
Where a shipment is tendered on a cash-on-delivery basis, the Company acts solely as collection agent. Collected amounts are reconciled daily and remitted to the shipper's nominated bank account, ordinarily within one working day of collection.
8. Governing law
These conditions are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the courts of Pakistan have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
